Following a prestigious career in Ireland, I polished my craft as a top stylist at the renowned Vidal Sassoon and James Dun’s House salons in Glasgow before an opportunity at Alchemy arose in 2016.
My creative work has graced the pages of the leading national fashion glossies including Harper’s Bazaar and ELLE. I’m known for my clean simple beautiful cuts – a legacy from my Vidal Sassoon days – which I balance with an edge of spontaneous creativity.
Although I enjoy working with magazines my heart lies in the salon where I’m happiest creating amazing hair for my clients so they walk out of Alchemy looking and feeling fantastic.
And in my spare time I love travel, musical theatre and hanging out with Buddy, my Staffordshire Terrier.
I’ve over 20 years experience working alongside the very best in the business. My work has featured in ELLE, GQ and Dazed magazines while I’ve styled the tresses for bands, runway shows and music videos. My career has been varied and exciting but I am now back where I belong – in the salon.
For me, the key to a an effortless, flawless look is simply down to listening and understanding my guests – their lifestyle, desires, wants and needs – then translating this into a head-turning style. I’ve garnered a serious reputation for creativity with my guests loving the modern classic colour looks I create.
Hair trends and styles have changed over the years but my passion remains the same as when I first started.
Having worked at Vidal Sassoon, been a member of the GHD Style Squad and styled for some of the leading fashion blogs and magazines, I was thrilled to join Alchemy as a Creative Director earlier this year.
I love the salon: its brilliant location in the heart of the city, the stunning décor and, of course, its exceptional team – together we strive to be the best in Glasgow.
I love styling hair; long, short, curly or straight I can work with all textures creating beautiful looks to wow my clients.
I’m also a master at colour correction, and colouring techniques – from bang-on-trend fashion-forward colour to classic, timeless hues. My clients are so important to me, I begin every appointment with an in-depth consultation; I want to fully understand your needs and wants. That way I know you’ll walk out of Alchemy looking and feeling you’re very best.
Outside of the salon I breed show dogs, love singing and keep abreast of all the latest fashion trends.
After completing my training at Rainbow Room International, I joined Alchemy attracted by the salon’s eco-friendly credentials and a creative team who constantly push the boundaries in hairdressing.
I’ve been cutting and colouring for over 5 years and I still love going on hair journeys with my guests; seeing the changes from start to finish and witnessing their delight with the end result. My clients describe me as very approachable and a fantastic listener (I’m blushing!). It’s true, I love to strike up a bond and get to know people – it helps me create the perfect hairstyle for them.
And I always include suggestions for aftercare; after all, who doesn’t want to look like they’ve just stepped out of the salon every day?
Previously, I featured at James Dun’s House and Rainbow Room International as well as styling for glossy publications, photo shoots and high profile events.
Joining Alchemy was an exciting career opportunity allowing me to further enhance my skills, including my gents’ barbering for which I’m earning rather a name for myself.
That said, I also love working with our women guests, with vintage and long hair dressing being my passion. Be it ‘Victory Rolls’, retro Hollywood waves or a contemporary hair up I guarantee beautiful results for all my clients. The team are always asking me for my professional tricks and tips which is why I’m now one of Alchemy’s Styling Educators, helping train and mentor my fellow creatives with the latest techniques and trends.
I believe a great haircut is two people working together to achieve fantastic results, so I involve my guests every step of the way. We begin with a relaxed in-depth consultation looking at your hair texture and condition, face shape, lifestyle, and personality, then chat through ideas and I’ll suggest alternatives if I feel something isn’t working. You should be wearing the hairstyle, not the style wearing you.
Suffering from scalp or hair problems? Then I’m your man – I’m Alchemy’s scalp and treatment specialist and with unrivaled product knowledge can assess and recommend the right product for your concerns.
Outside of the salon I coach competitive lifesaving and enjoy going to the cinema but you can’t beat the pub with your mates.
Front Of House Manager
Having started my career at James Dun’s House salon in Glasgow with the natural-based brand Aveda, I developed a strong interest in all things green and sustainable from the beginning. So moving to Alchemy, with its environmentally friendly ethos and working with Davines hair care was a natural progression.
As Floor Manager I really enjoy co-ordinating our busy talented team on a daily basis; guiding them through their creativity whilst ensuring our guests enjoy the highest possible salon experience.
I’m a dedicated all round stylist with a passion for beautiful colour, especially Balayage and free hand techniques, which my clients love for the incredibly natural-looking results they give.
When I’m not honing my hairdressing skills, I listen to music, socialise and play with my adorable Siberian Husky Hugo.
